Village Vacances Val Cartier
Village Vacances Valcartier, the largest winter sports park in Canada, is one of Quebec City’s premier wintertime attractions, and a must-visit destination for families visiting Quebec City with children of virtually any age. The world-famous Hotel de Glace (Ice Hotel) is also constructed every winter on the Village Vacances grounds.
The park has a meandering one-kilometer skating trail that winds gently through wooded and open areas, and no less than 35 snow slides, including four ultra-steep and ultra-fast slides to gentle inner tube slides for families with younger children.
Village Vacances Valcartier has a large cafeteria, of course, serving inexpensive fare just steps from the slides and the skating rink, making a day-trip, or an afternoon and evening trip from the Old City easy. However, many regular visitors stay at the on-site Hotel Val Cartier, designed and built as a family-friendly resort with its own indoor, Bora Bora-themed water park.
The park is an easy, roughly 40-minute drive from the heart of the Old City (MAP) and about a 25-minute drive (MAP) for families staying near the Galeries de la Capital at the Quality Suites or the Marriott Courtyard.
